The routing software is efficient and never sent us on a wild goose chase, but it annoyingly chimes when you need to turn rather than saying turn.
It doesn't have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a built-in camera, or a minikeyboard.
To start satellite acquisition, you turn on the unit and pop open the antenna, whose hinge lets you choose the best angle for reception.
This lasted for about a year, until I discovered a children's album called "The Munch Bunch" at the back of my Dad's record cabinet.
Meanwhile, the Bluetooth utility lets you set up Bluetooth-enabled devices, from phones to PCs to LANs, for all your wireless connectivity needs.
Although it's free, you'll need to download the Avvenu Agent to your computer before setting passwords and security options. Headliners are Fri: Supergrass, Sat: Squeeze, Sun: Madness and The Magic Numbers.
The display is readable, but obviously, without a backlight, you're going to have a problem in dark environments. Also, the full-screen mode on the video player still leaves about one-fourth of the screen unused.
This has happened to me frequently throughout my life. There's a convenient taskbar at the bottom of the screen that offers quick access to the Home page, the Find function, Bluetooth, and more.
The PalmOne LifeDrive doesn't come with too many extras, but you get a protective case.
However, a lot of people neither want those extras nor care to pay for them. No cradle is included, and older Palm docking stations and accessories won't work with the Tungsten E, thanks to its lack of a Palm Universal Connector. Rather than the classic metallic silver chassis, the TX sports a chic midnight blue coloring that can easily pass as black. As a child, I was warned of all the various dangers involved with having Devilish music in one's home or vehicle. Although it's free, you'll need to download the Avvenu Agent to your computer before setting passwords and security options.
Memory works in a thoroughly peculiar way, for me at any rate. Clearly, such tools can benefit the mobile professional, as will the built-in Bluetooth.
