Experts Say Bioidentical Hormone Therapy Can Treat Hormonal Imbalances including PMS and Perimenopause

Experts Say Bioidentical Hormone Therapy Can Treat Hormonal Imbalances
including PMS and Perimenopause

For most 30-something women, worrying about hormonal changes is a
problem they don't think they'll have to face until they've developed
more than just a few grey hairs or at least had a grandchild. But
doctors say even women in their 30's can experience unpleasant
menopausal symptoms like mood swings, weight gain, brittle bones and
low libido during extreme PMS or perimenopause.

Perimenopause is the time in a woman's life when she is transitioning
from childbearing years to menopause, according to the World Health
Organization. During this time estrogen levels may drop by 40 to 60
percent and progesterone levels may fall to zero by the onset of
menopause.

"Don't be fooled by age. Women as young as their 30's can experience
severe mood swings, night sweats, low libido, vaginal dryness, weight
gain and tension or migraine headaches," says Dr. Paul Savage, founder
and chief medical officer of BodyLogicMD, a network of anti-aging
physicians specializing in treating male and female menopause with
natural bioidentical hormones.

"Like menopause, perimenopause and PMS are normal parts of a woman's
cycle and women will experience many of the same symptoms of
menopause, but there are natural ways to relieve these symptoms."

After the birth of her second child, BodyLogicMD patient Malissa
Mosak, 30 said she became a different person. Her mood swings were so
severe that Mosak says she didn't even recognize herself.

"I was out of control. Some days I was happy and felt like myself, but
most of the time I was a monster. My sex drive was non-existent. I
yelled at my husband all the time and no matter how much I dieted I
couldn't lose the baby weight," said Mosak. "I hated myself."

After months of questioning doctors who only recommended she go on
birth control pills or anti-depressants to control her mood swings,
Mosak started researching hormone imbalances.

Mosek discovered her symptoms were related to a severe case of
hormonal imbalance. Mosak was severely low on progesterone and
estrogen, and high on testosterone.

Like many women, Mosak said she was eager to find relief for her
symptoms, but was confused by the myriad of studies on hormone
therapy, estrogen and the Women's Health Initiative.

"I was so excited about the natural part. I rushed right out and
bought a book that talked about (bioidentical hormones)," says Mosak,
who was relieved to find that BodyLogicMD used only natural,
bioidentical hormones.

Made from yam, soy and natural plant extracts, bioidentical hormone
therapy is a natural and safer alternative for treating those
unpleasant PMS, perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.

"It is important for women to understand the difference between
synthetic hormones, like the ones used in the Women's Health
Initiative, and bioidentical hormones," says Savage. "Synthetic
hormones act as toxins in the body because they are not metabolized
the same way human 'bioidentical' hormones are metabolized."

Bioidentical hormones are exact replicas of hormones that occur
naturally in the body, says Savage. In addition to relieving
unpleasant PMS symptoms, natural hormone therapy can actually protect
against obesity and other diseases, including cancer and Alzheimer's.
Bioidentical hormones need to be prescribed by a physician and made at
a quality compounding pharmacy.

In treating women with hormonal imbalances such as PMS and
perimenopause, BodyLogicMD physicians closely monitor hormone levels
to replace them with what is missing or low. Patients' symptoms are
closely monitored to ensure for the proper dose.

After three months on bioidentical hormone therapy, Mosak said she
noticed a significant difference in her mood swings and sex drive.

"I could not believe the difference I felt. I was happy, loving, and
energetic. It was a miracle. My weight started to drop off and by
Christmas I had lost 11 pounds and was back to the old Annie," said
Mosak. "Natural bioidentical hormone therapy saved my marriage, my
kids, my world."

Vodafone launches push mobile e-mail service

British mobile phone major Vodafone is introducing a business-oriented
"push" mobile e-mail service and plans to market it alongside similar
services from Blackberry and Microsoft, which it already sells.

The service, Vodafone Business Email, based on telecom software maker
Visto's push e-mail software, has a server functioning almost similar
to that of Blackberry's enterprise server. Microsoft's mobile e-mail
service is supported by Microsoft Exchange and mobile flavours of
Windows. It is expected to be in push-mode soon.

Vodafone Business Email and Blackberry Connect are priced at 28 pounds
per month for e-mail, calendar and contacts. The services are
delivered through a corporate server with a firewall.

The company also sells a pure e-mail version using an ISP POP e-mail
account, which comes at prices between 10 pounds and 15 pounds a
month. The Vodafone service will offer the corporate server free till
the end of next May.

It includes a new device management function, giving a remote view of
the state of the device to the administrator. It shuts down a lost
handset and manages roll-out and software installations.

Analysts find that the two services are on par except for the devices
they support. The Vodafone Business e-mail supports Microsoft and
Symbian smartphones, while the Blackberry service supports the
familiar Blackberry clients, and recently some non-Blackberry devices,
including the Nokia smartphones.

Vodafone said it will continue to push the Blackberry service. It said
the Blackberry service is intended for larger companies and those
established with Blackberry. The Vodafone service will extend that to
smaller companies and can be added to existing phones.

The Microsoft Windows Mobile service using scheduled ActiveSync is
designed for companies that use Exchange 2003 and Windows Mobile
smartphones.

Vodafone UK's director of enterprise marketing Mark Bond said working
with Visto, the company has developed a product to meet the both the
complex requirements of larger companies as well as the need of
smaller organisations and individuals to add easy to manage email to
their phone of choice.

Alcatel Alenia Space-built AMC-23 telecommunication satellite ready to be integrated on a Proton rocket in Baikonur, Kazakhstan

Twenty four months after the signature of the contract, Alcatel Alenia
Space - the prime contractor - announced that the AMC-23
communications satellite is ready to be integrated on the
Proton/Breeze M rocket in Baikonur, Kazakhstan.

Dedicated to the U.S. operator SES AMERICOM, an SES GLOBAL company,
AMC-23 is scheduled for launch on December 6, 2005 by International
Launch Services on a Proton Breeze M.

This advanced, high-powered hybrid C/Ku-band satellite will operate
over the Pacific region. From this single satellite, communications
will be sent from California to Bangladesh and from Alaska to
Australia and New Zealand.

This hybrid satellite, positioned at 172 degrees East Longitude, will
serve local, transcontinental and transoceanic customers across the
Pacific region, including Western North America, Eastern Asia, the
South Pacific, Alaska and Hawaii and provide links to the world's
premier regional satellite systems.

The satellite's Ku-band payload composed of 20 high-powered
transponders with bandwidths ranging from 27 to 36 MHz, has been
designed to meet the particular requirements of AMERICOM's customer,
Connexion by Boeing, for the delivery of high-speed broadband services
to commercial airline passengers throughout the Pacific region.

In addition, the 18 transponder C-band payloads will be available to
broadcasters, cable programmers, Internet service providers,
government agencies, educational institutions, carriers and private
networks for next generation distribution solutions and connectivity
to North America and Pacific Rim.

Alcatel Alenia Space President and CEO Pascale Sourisse said: « We are
proud to strengthen the mutual trust between Alcatel Alenia Space and
SES AMERICOM. With this 4th Spacebus satellite, which will soon be
part of AMERICOM's fleet, we have again expanded our range of
technological expertise to meet the needs of new satellite-based
services like high-speed Internet, data and entertainment connectivity
to aircraft in flight ».

With a launch mass of approximately 5 metric tons, a power of 13 kW,
AMC-23 is the fourth Spacebus 4000* telecommunication satellite to be
